Amazon Adds Amritsar and Jaipur to Quick Delivery Network

Customers in Amritsar and Jaipur can now access Amazon’s quick commerce service, Amazon Now, as the company expands its instant delivery network across India. The latest launches form part of Amazon’s wider push to scale ultra-fast deliveries ahead of the festive season.

The service allows customers in the two cities to order a range of products, including groceries, fruits and vegetables, frozen foods, personal care and beauty products, fashion, home care essentials and small appliances with orders delivered within minutes.

According to Amazon, shoppers in Amritsar are showing strong demand for health and nutrition products, personal care items and home care essentials, indicating evolving consumption patterns in Tier II markets.

Srikant Sree Ram, Director, Everyday Essentials, Amazon India said, "Amazon Now has crossed $1 billion in annualized gross sales in India with orders doubling every quarter since launch, making it the fastest-growing e-commerce business unit in Amazon India's history. As we scale to 100 cities by Diwali, customers in Amritsar can look forward to the same promise we have built over the past decade ..."

Amazon Now has reached more than 60 cities and towns across India in less than 10 weeks, according to the company. The quick commerce service has also expanded into several Tier II and Tier III markets, including Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Tirupati, Guntur, Vellore, Dharwad, Warangal and Berhampur.

The expansion comes as competition in India’s instant delivery market continues to intensify. Earlier this year, Amazon announced plans to take Amazon Now to 100 cities, supported by a network of more than 1,000 micro-fulfilment centres. The latest rollout reflects the company’s focus on quick commerce, online grocery and last-mile delivery as demand for faster fulfilment grows across both metropolitan and smaller Indian markets.
