Blacksmith, an AI code testing platform, has raised USD 66 million in a Series C round led by Sequoia Capital at a valuation of USD 1 billion. Premji Invest participated, along with existing investors Peak XV Partners, Google Ventures (GV) and Y Combinator.
The round takes total funding to USD 125 million. The company raised USD 45 million in a Series B led by Peak XV Partners at a USD 550 million valuation. The fresh capital will go toward expanding its team and computing infrastructure. Demand for code testing and validation tools is growing alongside the adoption of AI coding agents.
Founded in 2024 by Aditya Jayaprakash, Aayush Shah and Aditya Maru, Blacksmith provides infrastructure for building and testing code. Its platform runs continuous integration (CI) workflows that let developers build and test software before code is merged.
Blacksmith manages nearly 10 megawatts of computing capacity across data centres in the US and Europe and plans to expand it at least fivefold in 2027.
