JAKSON Green E-Mobility Wins Tender for 220 Electric Buses in Gujarat Under PM-eBus Sewa Programme
The order marks a key milestone in the company’s first year of operations, covering 120 buses in Vadodara, 80 in Gandhidham and 20 in Navsari under a 12-year contract.

JAKSON Green E-Mobility has emerged as the winning bidder for the deployment of 220 electric buses in Gujarat under the Government of India’s PM-eBus Sewa Programme. The tender was floated by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL). Securing the order within its first year of operations marks a significant step in the company’s expansion into India’s electric bus and commercial vehicle segment.

The project will cover three cities in Gujarat, with 120 electric buses planned for Vadodara, 80 for Gandhidham and 20 for Navsari. The deployment is aimed at supporting cleaner and more sustainable public transportation in these urban centres.

Under the 12-year Gross Cost Contract (GCC) model, JAKSON Green E-Mobility will handle the procurement, deployment, operation and maintenance of 9-metre air-conditioned electric buses. The contract also includes the development, operation and maintenance of charging infrastructure to support the buses throughout the project period.

Integrated Electric Bus and Charging Infrastructure

The project combines electric bus deployment with charging facilities and long-term fleet management. This integrated approach is intended to support reliable public transport operations while addressing the infrastructure requirements associated with the transition to electric mobility.

Commenting on the development, Deepak Thakur, Chief Executive Officer of JAKSON Green E-Mobility, said, “Securing this 220-electric-bus order within our first year of e-mobility operations is an important milestone, reflecting our commitment to building a long-term presence in providing integrated ecosystem approach in electric vehicles for public and commercial transportation solutions.”

He added that by integrating electric buses, charging infrastructure and fleet operations, the company aims to deliver safe, reliable and efficient mobility solutions for residents of Vadodara, Gandhidham and Navsari. According to Thakur, the project also extends the company's contribution to India's energy transition into everyday urban mobility.

Focus on Long-Term Fleet Operations and Maintenance

JAKSON Green E-Mobility is developing its presence in the electric bus and commercial vehicle segment through a model that combines fleet deployment, charging infrastructure, operations and lifecycle maintenance.

The Gujarat project builds on this approach through a long-term service commitment. Key operational priorities include fleet availability, efficiency, passenger comfort and safety over the 12-year contract period.

The GCC model places responsibility for operating and maintaining the buses on the service provider for the contracted duration. This structure supports a service-oriented approach to public transport, with the performance and availability of the fleet remaining important throughout the project.

Supporting India's Sustainable Public Transport Goals

The deployment is expected to help the three Gujarat cities transition towards cleaner urban mobility through electric buses that produce zero tailpipe emissions during operation. The shift can also contribute to reducing local air pollution from conventional diesel-powered public transport, although the overall emissions impact depends partly on the electricity used for charging.

The project aligns with the broader objectives of the Government of India's PM-eBus Sewa Programme, which seeks to expand electric bus services and strengthen sustainable urban transportation.

For JAKSON Green E-Mobility, the 220-bus order represents an opportunity to establish a stronger presence in the electric public transport market while developing its capabilities in charging infrastructure, fleet operations and long-term maintenance.
