Jio-bp and Kia India have announced a partnership to integrate their electric vehicle (EV) charging networks, enabling customers to access a larger number of charging points through their existing mobile applications. The collaboration aims to improve the accessibility of public charging infrastructure for electric vehicle owners.
Under the agreement, Jio-bp network of more than 7,000 charging points across over 1,100 sites in 300 cities will be accessible through the K-Charge feature on Kia India's MyKia app. This will increase the total number of charging points available to Kia EV customers on the platform to more than 23,500. In the other direction, Kia's 125 dealership DC fast chargers will be progressively integrated into Jio-bp pulse charge pro app.
Both applications will allow users to locate available chargers, plan routes, initiate and monitor charging sessions, and make digital payments through a single platform. The companies also plan to add more Kia dealership chargers to the Jio-bp app over time, further expanding access to their charging infrastructure.
Jio-bp DC fast chargers offer charging capacities ranging from 60 kW to 480 kW. According to the company, its charging network has an uptime of 96%, with several charging stations located along national highways to support long-distance travel. The pulse charge pro app also uses artificial intelligence (AI) to provide real-time information about charger availability and network status, helping users plan their charging stops more efficiently.
Jio-bp is the operating brand of Reliance BP Mobility Limited, a joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited and bp. In addition to EV charging, the company operates across conventional fuel retail, compressed biogas, aviation fuel and on-demand diesel delivery. The partnership comes amid the expansion of India's public EV charging infrastructure, with access to reliable charging facilities remaining an important consideration for electric vehicle buyers, particularly those without home-charging access or those travelling between cities.
By integrating their existing networks, Jio-bp and Kia India aim to improve the visibility and accessibility of charging points without requiring new physical installations. The collaboration is expected to make public charging more convenient for EV owners by expanding the number of chargers accessible through their existing applications.
