Kepler Aerospace has raised $8 million to develop autonomous swarm satellites for military surveillance. The Bengaluru-based startup plans to deploy a six-satellite ISR constellation by 2027 for autonomous monitoring across land, sea, air and space.

 

Kepler Aerospace, a Bengaluru-based space-tech startup, has raised USD 8 million in funding to build swarm satellites for military surveillance.

Founded in 2018 by Navneet Singh, Kepler Aerospace secured a USD 4 million iDEX Prime contract from India’s Ministry of Defence in 2025 to develop a six-satellite Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) constellation for the Defence Space Agency, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, and the Ministry of Defence.

The constellation, scheduled for deployment in 2027, is designed to operate as a self-coordinating swarm, autonomously tracking threats and collecting surveillance data across land, sea, air, and space without relying on ground control.

The company, previously bootstrapped with reported annual revenue of about INR 7.3 crore, also supplies components, satellite services, and ground station support for ISRO’s Space Based Surveillance-III (SBS-III) programme, which includes 21 satellites.

“This iDEX contract represents more than just a business milestone — it’s the beginning of a new era in space-based intelligence,” said Navneet Singh, Founder and CEO, Kepler Aerospace. “We’re not just building satellites; we’re creating an autonomous intelligence network that will fundamentally transform how India approaches space defence.”
