The LEGO Group has opened its first-ever store in Chennai, marking the global toymaker’s entry into Tamil Nadu and further strengthening its retail footprint in South India. The launch comes through its partnership with Ample Group, which continues to help expand the brand’s presence across key Indian cities.
The new LEGO Certified Store, located at Express Avenue Mall, spans around 2,800 sq. ft. and features the brand’s signature experiential elements. Visitors can explore interactive play zones, a Pick-a-Brick Wall, a Make Your Own Minifigure station, and intricate model displays showcasing popular LEGO sets. Shoppers can also access exclusive products available only at Certified Stores. To celebrate the opening, customers spending above ₹10,000 will receive a complimentary LEGO Mini Store, along with special Black Friday promotions during the inaugural weekend.
Bhavana Mandon, General Manager of LEGO India, said the company is encouraged by the strong reception to its stores in Gurugram and Bengaluru. “We’re excited to bring the authentic LEGO Brand experience to Chennai. The enthusiasm from our existing stores has encouraged us to strengthen our presence across key Indian cities,” she said.
Ample Group CEO and Founder Rajesh Narang noted that Chennai’s affinity for family-focused experiences makes it a strong market for the brand. “This store marks a significant milestone for us in South India,” he said, adding that the expansion aligns with the company’s commitment to premium experiential retail.
Following the Chennai debut, Ample Group is set to open its second LEGO Certified Store in Bengaluru—a larger, 4,393 sq. ft. outlet that will offer an expanded experiential format in one of the city’s top retail destinations.
Together, the back-to-back launches in Chennai and Bengaluru signal a strategic push by LEGO Group and Ample Group to tap into South India’s rapidly growing demand for immersive and interactive retail experiences.
