Mahindra has marked one year since the launch of its electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and BE 6, announcing that the two models have collectively crossed 30,000 units in sales within just seven months of market availability.
According to the company, the Mahindra EV division generated over Rs. 8,000 crore in revenue during H1 FY26, securing the number one position in revenue market share. During this period, Mahindra sold one electric SUV every 10 minutes on average.
Mahindra highlighted strong usage behaviour among customers. More than 65% of EV owners drive their vehicles daily on working days, while over 1,000 vehicles have surpassed the 20,000 km mark. Collectively, Mahindra EV owners have driven more than 200 million kilometers to date.
The electric SUVs have been tested across diverse Indian terrains and climates, operating in temperatures ranging from 4°C to 53°C. Nearly 30% of owners have completed single-day trips exceeding 400 km, while around 60% of vehicles are achieving over 500 km range in city conditions.
Mahindra also noted a significant shift in its customer profile, with 80% of buyers being first-time Mahindra customers, driven largely by interest from urban professionals and tech-focused consumers.
The BE 6 garnered substantial attention through innovative marketing initiatives, including a partnership with gaming platform BGMI and a limited-edition Batman-themed variant. The special edition, limited to just 999 units, sold out in approximately two minutes.
The launch campaign generated over 4 billion views across platforms, making the two SUVs among the most talked-about automotive launches of the year.
Founded in 1945, the Mahindra Group operates across sectors such as farm equipment, utility vehicles, IT, and financial services, employing 324,000 people in more than 100 countries.
