Trent Ltd. is accelerating its retail expansion across India as it strengthens its presence in both emerging and established markets. The company said it is increasingly expanding its presence across more diverse markets across India, including many Tier 2 and Tier 3 locations. The compelling traction gives it the conviction to double down into more hinterlands going forward, even as it continues to build on its presence in metro and Tier 1 cities. The agenda is to drive material reach and share of revenues in key proximate markets, while evolving the quality of its store portfolio, including the look and feel of stores, as it consciously increases the density of its presence in such markets.

According to Neeraj Basur, CFO, Trent has evolved into a platform that allows the company to originate, incubate and scale a portfolio of growth engines. This is achieved by adopting a deeply differentiated approach to customer-facing aspects of brands, and at the same time, a deeply integrated approach with respect to systems, processes and infrastructure as the company seeks to address increasingly diverse market opportunities.

Trent said that over time, it seeks to build out a compelling and future-fit portfolio of lifestyle brands, each commanding a distinctive consumer image and addressing a substantial market opportunity. As part of this agenda, the company is strengthening its core to drive efficiencies, enhancing its product proposition in select categories and driving premiumisation by way of desirable products, convenience and experience.
