Founder, Freshworks and CEO
Girish Mathrubootham is the Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) of Freshworks and serves on its Board of
Directors. He founded Freshworks (then Freshdesk)
in October 2010 with Shanmugan Krishnasamy.
Girish is the product visionary at Freshworks. He
has scaled the company from a handful of
employees to a unicorn. What began as a single
product company ‘Freshdesk’, is now Freshworks,
with seven products under its wings and more than
2000 employees. Freshworks has expanded to the
US, the UK, Australia, Germany and Middle East
under Girish’s able leadership. The company also
acquired the coveted unicorn tag in 2018.
Before founding Freshworks, Girish was the VP of
Product Management at the ManageEngine division
of Zoho Corporation. He had joined Zoho
Corporation (then AdventNet) in 2001 as a PreSales
Engineer. Girish has been building on-premise
helpdesk systems since 2004.
Girish has earned his MBA in Marketing from the
University of Madras and his BE from Shanmugha
Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy.
