Dr. Chandrasekhar Nair

Dr. Chandrasekhar Nair is the Director and Chief Technology Officer at Molbio Diagnostics, a leading force in India’s In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) landscape. He is also the Co-founder of Bigtec Labs, a subsidiary that plays a pivotal role in advancing Molbio's mission to revolutionize healthcare diagnostics.
With over 34 years of experience, Dr. Nair has been a driving force in India’s MedTech and BioTech research and development ecosystem. Dr. Nair’s focus over the last two decades has been on developing rapid, portable, and affordable diagnostic technologies — a vision that led to the creation of Molbio Diagnostics, driven by the goal of making advanced diagnostics accessible at the point of care, alongside his partner Sriram Natarajan. He has successfully led the development of cutting-edge healthcare technologies and scaled them through state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. His work has resulted in numerous Indian and international patents, underlining his expertise and innovation in healthcare.
He has a background in Chemical Engineering, holding both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from BITS Pilani, and a Ph.D. in Bio-MEMS from Vellore Institute of Technology. His career includes heading the Computer Science and Engineering Divisions at Vittal Mallya Scientific Research Foundation, where he made significant contributions to bioprocess modeling and the scale-up of bio and chemical processes.
