At the group level, Mr. Bhattacherjee is leading enterprise sustainability for ESG excellence, climate action, and risk management in pursuit of Net Zero goals. He also serves as Vice President – Head of the Energy Strategic Business Unit, shaping enterprise energy strategy and operations with a focus on resilience and innovation. With a dynamic career spanning over 34 years across large integrated steel and thermal power plants, he has driven green manufacturing transformation through process and value chain decarbonization. He is spearheading the development of large-scale renewable and clean energy capacities—including wind-solar hybrid systems, hydrogen, and emerging energy technologies—to achieve carbon neutrality in steel. At the intersection of sustainability and technology, he champions operational excellence through advanced digitalization, data intelligence, and AI-driven processes. His initiatives leverage digital twins, predictive analytics, and smart automation to optimize energy efficiency, enhance productivity, and embed climate-conscious decision-making into manufacturing operations.
