Nitin Gupta

Nitin Gupta is CEO and Co-founder of Attero, India’s top critical minerals & rare magnets firm, the world’s most advanced urban miner, and a global leader in e-waste and lithium-ion battery recycling. An IIT Delhi alumnus with business studies from NYU Stern and London Business School, he founded Attero in 2008 after leadership roles in the US. A cleantech visionary, he has been instrumental in advancing the sector in India.
Under his leadership, Attero has built recycling facilities across Roorkee, Pune, Bengaluru, and Rajasthan; secured 46+ patents; and earned carbon credits for its processes. The company has raised $30 million from investors including Kalaari Capital and IFC, with innovations recognized by NASA and UNFCCC.
Attero is the only Indian company with globally patented deep-tech to refine black mass and recover rare earth elements at over 98% efficiency and 99.9% purity. It continues to champion India’s self-reliance in critical minerals to reduce import dependence and counter China’s dominance in rare earth supply chains.
