Umesh Bude

Umesh Bude is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Pocket FM. With over two decades of experience in engineering and product leadership, he has played a pivotal role in building and scaling technology platforms across diverse industries. A graduate of the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Umesh has held key positions at Sun Microsystems and Akamai Technologies. He later served as CTO at OYO Vacation Homes and as Senior Vice President, Head of Engineering and Product at Unacademy, where he drove large-scale product and technology transformations. In 2024, he joined Pocket FM as SVP & Head of Engineering and was elevated to CTO in 2025. Today, he leads the company’s technology vision, driving innovations in generative AI, scalability, and immersive storytelling experiences, while positioning Pocket FM as a global pioneer in AI-powered entertainment. Away from work, Umesh is a strong believer in holistic well-being as he dedicates time to fitness and reading, two pursuits that keep him energised and constantly learning.
