The National Education, Employability and EdTech Summit 2026 was held at Bharat Mandapam, where industry leaders and education experts gathered to discuss the future of global talent and employability in a rapidly changing world.
The session titled “The Great Reroute of Global Talent and Where Opportunity Is Headed Next” featured Akshay Chaturvedi, CEO of Leverage Edu, in conversation with Sanjeev Kumar Jha, Editor of Entrepreneur India. During the discussion, they shared insights on shifting global talent flows and emerging opportunity markets across the world.
In his opening address, Sachin Marya, Editorial Director, Entrepreneur India, stated that the worlds of education, employment and EdTech are evolving rapidly and there is a growing need for stronger alignment between these sectors. He further said, “To address the challenges of the future, the education system must become more flexible, innovation-driven and closely aligned with industry requirements.”
During the discussion, the speakers also highlighted that traditional education models must evolve to keep pace with the changing global workforce.
Institutions need to incorporate practical skills, industry exposure and technology-driven learning into their curriculum so that students are better prepared for new career opportunities.
The speakers also emphasized that employability-led education will play a crucial role in preparing future-ready talent. According to them, the global economy today demands professionals who are skilled, adaptable and capable of navigating changing international opportunities.
The summit served as an important platform for dialogue between academia, industry leaders and policymakers, highlighting the urgent need to transform education systems in order to prepare the next generation of global talent.
During the discussion, the speakers further noted that employability-led learning will become increasingly important in the coming years. A degree alone is no longer sufficient. Companies today are looking for young professionals who possess practical skills, problem-solving abilities, technological understanding and the capability to work in global environments.
Therefore, educational institutions must revise their curricula to include internships, industry projects, digital skills and real-world work experience, enabling students to understand industry requirements alongside their academic learning.
The summit also emphasized that the future economy is becoming increasingly global and technology-driven. In such a scenario, it is essential to prepare young talent not only for local opportunities but also for international careers.
The platform brought together stakeholders from education, industry and policymaking to explore how new policies, modern education models and stronger industry collaboration can create better opportunities for the next generation. Experts believe that if the education system evolves with time and equips students with the right skills, India has the potential to emerge as a global talent hub.
