Deliberations on Education, Employability and EdTech in New Delhi
Several leading experts from the education and EdTech sectors came together at the National Education, Employability & EdTech Summit 2026 to discuss the evolving landscape of education, skills and technology. The event, organized by Entrepreneur India, focused on the future of education and how learners can be prepared for a rapidly changing world.
The programme commenced with the opening address by Sachin Marya, Editorial Director, Entrepreneur India. In his address, he highlighted the changing dynamics of education, employment and EdTech, emphasizing that education systems must become more flexible, innovation-driven and aligned with industry requirements in the coming years.
Experts Discuss the Future of Education
One of the key sessions at the summit titled “The Future of Education: Preparing Learners for an Unpredictable World” brought together experts to discuss the need for reforms in the education system.
During this session, Rishikesh Patankar (Vice President- Government Programmes, Industry & Academia Collaboration at the National Skill Development Corporation, NSDC) stated that in a rapidly changing world, limiting education to textbook knowledge is no longer sufficient. Students must develop adaptability, critical thinking and real-world skills.
He added that many careers that will exist in the future do not even exist today. Therefore, education systems must equip students to deal with uncertainty and prepare them for future challenges.
Growing Importance of Education and Skill Development
Patankar emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between educational institutions and industry. Such partnerships can provide students with practical exposure and help them acquire job-relevant skills alongside their academic learning. He also noted that digital technologies and EdTech platforms can play a crucial role in making education more effective and accessible.
Presence of Leading Experts at the Summit
The summit also witnessed the presence of several prominent experts from the education, EdTech and skilling ecosystem. Among them were Devika Nadig (Co-founder and Director, Shikshangan), Ranjana Jha (Vice Chancellor, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women), Vinnie Jauhari (Head- Education, Microsoft Elevate), Mukul Rustagi (Founder and CEO, Classplus) Prateek Shukla (Co-founder and CEO, Masai), Praveen Kumar Rajbhar (Founder, Skilling You), Tarun Anand (Chancellor and Founder, Universal AI University) and Shayan Dasverma (Director - India Office and Head of Marketing, South Asia, Vita Student, among others).They highlighted the need to make the education system more skill-oriented, technology-enabled and aligned with industry needs.
What Should Future Education Look Like?
Experts at the summit emphasized that education cannot remain confined to examinations and marks. Developing creativity, problem-solving abilities, teamwork and digital literacy among students has become a key priority.
According to the experts, if schools and universities adapt to changing times and prioritize technology and skill-based learning, Indian youth will be better positioned to compete at the global level.
