Chandigarh University Launches 'Campus Tank', Connects 1,000 Startups with $6 Million in Funding
Chandigarh University has launched ‘Campus Tank’to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among youth.

It is the country's first university-based startup launchpad, which aims to provide young people with opportunities to innovate and connect them with industry.

‘Campus Tank’ has been launched with funding of US$6 million (approximately ₹50 crore). It will provide young entrepreneurs and students with the opportunity to transform their ideas into real startup models. More than 1,000 startups have joined this launchpad so far, of which 10 have received seed funding.

On the occasion, University Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu said that fostering innovation among youth is crucial to making India a developed nation by 2047. He explained that "Campus Tank" is building a strong innovation ecosystem by bringing together education, industry, and technology.

The event also marked the launch of the ‘CU AI Space’ which will provide a common platform for students, startups, and industry, serving as a hub for incubation and collaboration for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and technology startups.


Industry Minister Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi' said, "Campus Tank will emerge as a unique platform for young innovators to present their ideas to industry experts, mentors and investors."

Nandi described this initiative as a historic step for India's startup ecosystem. He said it will advance Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ‘Startup India’ campaign and help realize the dreams of young people.

Through Campus Tank, Chandigarh University has established itself as a global gateway to the AI ecosystem. This platform will provide young innovators from India and abroad with an opportunity to share their ideas and play a vital role in the country's technological and economic progress.
