Lead Group a leading edtech company that provides learning solutions in partnership with schools, plans to expand its network by adding over 1,200 schools by 2026, bringing the total to approximately 10,000. The company currently works with approximately 8,500 schools and typically adds approximately 1,000 new schools each year.
Sumeet Mehta, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Lead Group, shared this year's plans and priorities, saying The most important goal is to add more schools and we are targeting 1,200 by 2026.
Our second goal is to ensure that our existing schools grow, which we internally call value retention. The third pillar of growth will be to continue upgrading some of the schools that came with the acquisition of Pearson India's K-12 business, to utilize the technology and learning systems they use. Of the 8,500 schools the company has partnered with 90 percent are located in non-metropolitan areas and 50 percent are in tier III and IV cities.
The Company's Financial Position And Potential For An IPO
Are also paving the way for a potential initial public offering (IPO) in fiscal year 2028. Lead Group has demonstrated strong financial performance, achieving revenue of ₹415 crore for the 2025-26 academic year, a 30% increase from the previous year. The company ended FY25 with revenue of ₹367 crore and importantly, achieved operating EBITDA breakeven, indicating financial stability and operational efficiency. In January 2022, Lead Group secured a $100 million Series E funding round, valuing it at $1.1 billion.
