Exponent Energy Launches ‘Exponent Oto’ to Electrify CNG, LPG Auto
Exponent Energy has introduced ‘Exponent Oto’ a retrofit technology that converts CNG and LPG three-wheelers into electric vehicles within just 24 hours. These retrofitted autos can fully charge in 15 minutes and offer a range of up to 150 km.

Exponent Energy has announced the launch of its new project, ‘Exponent Oto’, a retrofit solution that transforms existing CNG and LPG three-wheelers into electric vehicles (EVs) in just 24 hours.

According to the company, this retrofit technology enables complete charging in just 15 minutes using Exponent’s existing e^pump charging stations.

The converted EVs can accelerate from 0 to 30 km/h in 4.5 seconds and deliver a real-world range of 140–150 km on a single charge. Exponent is offering the service with zero down payment, flexible EMI plans, and an assured buyback after three years.

Arun Vinayak, CEO and Co-founder of Exponent Energy, said, “We already serve new EV buyers with our 15-minute charging technology, but there are 25–30 times more existing vehicles on the road than new sales. Retrofitting allows every driver to experience the Exponent EV transformation faster.”

The conversion process replaces all internal combustion components—engine, gearbox, exhaust, fuel tank, and wiring harness—with Exponent’s retrofit kit, which includes the Piccolo battery pack, CX1 e^port charging interface, motor, controller, and drivetrain.

Retrofitted vehicles come equipped with IP67 water resistance, hill-start assist, and IoT-based connectivity for GPS tracking, diagnostics, and real-time service alerts. They operate without clutch or gearshifts, offering a smoother drive.

Ayush Bhargava, Head of Business at Exponent Energy, stated that this retrofit solution costs half as much as conventional EV conversions, allowing drivers to save up to ₹5,000 per month on fuel and maintenance.

Since its founding in 2020, Exponent Energy has deployed over 2,100 EVs powered by its technology and established more than 150 charging stations across Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Ahmedabad.

The company has raised $44.6 million in funding from investors including Lightspeed, Eight Roads Ventures, YourNest VC, 3one4 Capital, AdvantEdge VC, and the family office of Dr. Pawan Munjal, Chairman and CEO of Hero MotoCorp.
