Gaja Alternative Asset Management, commercially known as Gaja Capital, has raised INR 165 crore from anchor investors ahead of its initial public offering (IPO), which opens for public subscription on August 19. Comprising a fresh issue of INR 450 crore and an offer for sale of INR 100 crore. The issue will close on August 21.
The company has allotted 1.03 crore equity shares to 15 institutional investors at INR 160 per share, the upper end of its IPO price band of INR 152–160 per share.
The anchor investors include Societe Generale, Bengal Finance and Investments, Winro Commercial (India) and Sanshi Fund-I.
Domestic mutual funds received 67.18 lakh shares through 13 schemes. Investors included Nippon Life India, Invesco, JM Financial Mutual Fund, Groww Mutual Fund, Helios Mutual Fund, Trust Mutual Fund and Samco. Insurance companies HDFC Life, SBI Life and Bajaj Life were allotted 17.18 lakh shares worth INR 27.49 crore.
The company plans to use INR 372 crore of the net proceeds from the fresh issue for sponsor commitments to existing and new funds and repayment of a bridge loan. The remaining proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.
Gaja Capital reported a profit of INR 79.7 crore for the financial year ended March 2026, up 33.8 percent from INR 59.5 crore a year earlier. Revenue rose 11.1 percent to INR 135.5 crore from INR 122 crore.
JM Financial and IIFL Capital Services are the merchant bankers for the IPO.
