JW Marriott Pune has appointed Suyash Bisht as Director of Food and Beverage and Sajid Patel as Executive Chef, strengthening its leadership team across the property’s food and beverage operations.

Bisht joins the hotel with more than a decade of experience in luxury hospitality across several global brands. His professional background includes work in restaurant concept development, repositioning dining venues, guest experience design and managing food and beverage operations within luxury hotels, resorts and private members’ clubs.

Before joining JW Marriott Pune, Bisht was associated with The Oberoi Group, where he most recently led the food and beverage division at The Oberoi, Mumbai. In that role, he oversaw restaurants, bars and lounges at the property while focusing on revenue growth, guest engagement strategies and operational standards. His tenure also included repositioning the hotel’s Eau Bar as a key nightlife destination in Mumbai.

Earlier in his career, Bisht played a role in the pre-opening and operational launch of The Bay Club, a private members’ club developed by The Oberoi Group in Bandra Kurla Complex. He managed the food and beverage strategy during the launch phase, contributing to the development of the club’s dining portfolio and overall member engagement.

Bisht began his hospitality career with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts through the brand’s Manager in Training programme. During his tenure, he held leadership roles at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, managing large-scale food and beverage operations and introducing new dining concepts. He was also involved in sustainability initiatives including the ecoSPIRITS programme.

Joining him in the culinary leadership team is Executive Chef Sajid Patel, who brings more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry. In his role, Patel will oversee the hotel’s culinary operations including menu planning, food production, hygiene and quality standards, outdoor catering and dining operations across restaurants, lounges and banquet facilities.

Prior to joining JW Marriott Pune, Patel served as Executive Chef at Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Brigade Gateway where he managed a team of more than 70 culinary professionals. During his tenure, the property reported double digit revenue growth in food and beverage performance and successfully delivered several large-scale catering projects including corporate and government events attended by thousands of guests.

Patel’s professional experience also includes roles at Trident Bandra Kurla, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar and Courtyard by Marriott Bengaluru ORR along with Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru ORR. While working with The Oberoi Group earlier in his career, he progressed to the role of Executive Sous Chef for Banquet Operations.

He holds a degree in Hotel and Tourism Management Studies from University of Mumbai and a Post Graduate Diploma in Kitchen Management from The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development. Patel is also a Certified Departmental Trainer and has experience across Indian, Western and Oriental cuisines, with expertise in sushi and Mediterranean dishes. His work has also included international food showcases such as an Indian culinary presentation at Belmond Villa Sant’Andrea in Sicily, Italy.

During his career, Patel has received industry recognition including the Most Admired Chef award in 2022 at the World Leadership Congress Awards and being named among the Best Chefs of 2024 in Bengaluru by The Chef Post. He has also been involved in maintaining high compliance scores across food safety audits including FSSAI standards.

Chef Sajid Patel said, “I am delighted to join JW Marriott Pune and be part of a brand that is synonymous with culinary excellence and elevated guest experiences. I look forward to working closely with the talented team to craft memorable dining moments, introduce innovative culinary concepts and further strengthen the hotel’s position as a preferred dining destination in the city.”

With the appointments of Suyash Bisht and Sajid Patel, JW Marriott Pune aims to strengthen its food and beverage operations while expanding dining offerings for guests and local patrons in Pune.
