Lemon Tree Hotels Limited has announced the signing of a new hotel in Uttarakhand, strengthening its presence in the state’s growing leisure and spiritual tourism market. The company will develop Keys Select by Lemon Tree Hotels, Khurpatal with the signing disclosed on January 19, 2026.
The property will be managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels. With this addition, the hospitality chain aims to cater to both religious and leisure travellers seeking a value-driven yet contemporary stay experience in the Himalayan region.
Located near Nainital, Khurpatal is a tranquil hill hamlet situated at an altitude of around 1,635 metres. Known for its distinctive blue-green lake and dense forests of pine, oak and deodar, the destination offers a quieter alternative to the more crowded tourist hub of Nainital. The area is popular among travellers looking for slow tourism, meditation, yoga retreats and nature-based experiences such as boating, trekking, birdwatching and forest walks.
The upcoming Keys Select property will feature 120 well-appointed rooms, a restaurant, a banquet hall and a meeting room. Recreational amenities will include a swimming pool, spa and fitness centre, positioning the hotel to serve both leisure guests and small corporate or social gatherings.
In terms of connectivity, the hotel is located approximately 70 km from Pantnagar Airport and about 36 km from Kathgodam Railway Station with access to both public and private transport.
Commenting on the signing, Vilas Pawar, CEO-Managed & Franchise Business, Lemon Tree Hotels, said the new property aligns with the company’s strategy to expand its leisure portfolio in destinations suited for introspection, wellness and spiritual travel. He added that Uttarakhand currently has nine operational Lemon Tree hotels and 10 more in the pipeline.
The signing underscores Lemon Tree Hotels’ continued expansion in leisure-focused destinations, as domestic travel demand remains strong for experiential stays in hill and spiritual locations across India.
