Maasi Raises ₹6 Crore to Focus on Technology and Training for Early Childhood Development
The Bengaluru-based childcare startup, backed by Better Capital and Antler India, has served over 1,200 parents and plans to expand its trained caregiver network and technology platform.

Bengaluru-based childcare startup Maasi has raised ₹6 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Better Capital and Antler India. The company plans to use the funds to strengthen its caregiver network, improve training programmes, and expand its technology platform to make childcare more accessible and reliable for families.

The funding round also saw participation from angel investors, including Rapido’s Rishikesh SR, Shadowfax’s Vaibhav Khandelwal, Xoxoday’s Sumit Khandelwal, Crane VC’s Siddhant Goyal and Multiply Ventures’ Sanjay Ramakrishnan.

Since its public launch on October 20, Maasi has received more than 4,000 waitlist registrations within five days. The startup has served over 1,200 parents through a network of more than 500 caregivers and reported week-on-week growth of 20%.

Building a Trained Caregiver Network for Early Childhood Development

Maasi aims to address the challenges parents face in finding reliable childcare. In many cases, families depend on informal referrals to identify caregivers, with limited access to standardised training, accountability mechanisms, or backup support.

The startup offers on-demand nanny services starting at ₹199 per hour and monthly subscriptions starting at ₹5,999. Before being introduced to families, all caregivers undergo verification and training through a programme led by preschool directors, nurses, and former airline cabin crew trainers.

The company has also introduced Maasi Governess, a service offering English-speaking nannies trained in screen-free engagement and childcare. The offering is designed to support children's engagement and care while helping parents find caregivers who meet defined service standards.

From a Parent Community to a Childcare Startup

Maasi emerged from Urban Parents Club, a Bengaluru-based community of more than 8,000 parents. Founders Aashu, Gargi, and Reshov identified reliable childcare as a recurring concern among families and developed a service focused on trust, accountability, and caregiver quality.

“Finding reliable childcare is still a gamble for millions of Indian parents. We’re excited to back Aashu, Gargi and Reshov as they bring trust and accountability to it and build a new standard for childcare in India,” said Vaibhav Domkundwar, founder of Better Capital.

Rajiv Srivatsa, partner at Antler India, said the company's focus on maintaining high standards for caregivers was a key factor behind the investment.

Funding to Support Training, Technology and Expansion

Maasi will deploy the newly raised capital towards expanding caregiver recruitment and training, developing its technology platform, and growing its Bengaluru team. These investments are expected to help the startup strengthen its service delivery as demand for organised childcare grows.

By combining caregiver verification, structured training, and technology-enabled services, Maasi aims to establish a more organised childcare model for urban families. Its focus on caregiver quality and screen-free engagement also highlights the importance of dependable care environments during children's early years.
