Manappuram Group appoints Bhuvanesh Tarashankar as Group CFO

In his role as Group CFO, he will provide strategic financial leadership across all Manappuram Group companies, working closely with the Board and senior management to strengthen financial governance, capital efficiency and long-term value creation.

Manappuram Group aims to build a strong team to support its Manappuram 2.0 strategy and long-term growth ambitions. This appointment underscores efforts towards achieving that goal.

Tarashankar is a Chartered Accountant with over three decades of experience in leading banking and financial services institutions in India and abroad. He is widely recognized for his expertise in financial strategy and planning, capital and balance sheet management, regulatory reporting, corporate governance, investor engagement and business analysis.

Prior to joining the Manappuram Group, Tarashankar served as Chief Financial Officer at RBL Bank Limited, where he led core finance functions, including regulatory reporting, statutory audit, taxation, procurement and payments.

Earlier in his career, Bhuvanesh Tarashankar held several senior leadership roles at Citibank in India and West Asia, including Cluster Controller for the Indian subcontinent and Lead CFO in other countries. His work at Citi ranged from capital management to ICAAP, balance sheet optimization, SOX 404 compliance, Basel II implementation, financial planning and analysis and a wide range of re-engineering initiatives that helped reduce costs and improve returns on equity.

Throughout his career, Tarashankar is known for partnering closely with business teams to drive disciplined growth, strengthen internal controls, enhance organizational resilience and align financial strategy with long-term business objectives.

In his role as Group CFO, Tarashankar will oversee the Group's financial functions, including financial strategy, accounting, treasury, taxation, regulatory engagement and investor relations. He will play a key role in supporting the Manappuram Group's strategic priorities and ensuring strong financial discipline, corporate governance and compliance standards.
