The Thiruvananthapuram-based EdTech startup Wayvida has received ₹3.25 crore in cloud credits from Microsoft. According to the company, the support will help strengthen its AI-powered education technology, expand its cloud infrastructure and support the development of new technology solutions.
The support has been provided in the form of cloud credits rather than cash funding. Wayvida said the credits will help it increase the use of AI tools and cloud technology while advancing its global expansion roadmap.
Founded by educator and entrepreneur Gireesh Neyyar, Wayvida’s platform focuses on managing the operations of schools, educational institutions, coaching centres and other education businesses through a digital ecosystem. Its AI-powered LMS and institute management platform aims to bring functions such as admissions, fee collection, attendance and student progress onto a single dashboard.
Focus on Using AI Technology to Simplify Education Management
According to Wayvida, its technology ecosystem extends beyond an LMS and includes ERP, HRMS, CRM, custom software development, web development, business automation and digital transformation services. The company is working to provide educators and institutions with an integrated digital system.
The company’s model comes at a time when educational institutions are increasingly using multiple digital tools for admissions, fee management, attendance, communication and learning management. Wayvida is focusing on bringing these processes onto a single platform to make day-to-day institutional operations more organised and efficient.
Commenting on Microsoft’s support, Gireesh Neyyar said the collaboration would help Wayvida strengthen its AI capabilities, accelerate its international roadmap and develop technology solutions that can help educators and institutions manage their operations more efficiently.
Preparing an AI-Powered Education Platform for Global Markets
According to Wayvida, Gireesh Neyyar brings more than two decades of experience in the education sector. He founded Talent Academy, which was later incorporated into Veranda Learning Solutions’ education business in 2023.
Building on his experience with Talent Academy, Wayvida is focusing on bringing education and technology together. According to the company, its platform enables teachers and trainers to start and manage their online academies, while institutions get integrated digital tools to manage their education operations.
Microsoft Support Strengthens Focus on International Expansion
According to Wayvida, Microsoft’s cloud support will strengthen its technology foundation while accelerating preparations for expansion into international markets. The company aims to address the needs of educators and institutions in India and other countries through AI- and SaaS-based education solutions.
