New Age Makers’ Institute of Technology (NAMTECH), a not-for-profit educational initiative of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India and India’s first institution focused on Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET), recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), one of India’s oldest universities with 77+ years of institutional legacy.
The partnership brings together SPPU’s academic strength and NAMTECH’s industry-integrated approach to education to advance workforce development and strengthen industry-ready talent for India’s manufacturing and high-technology sectors.
The collaboration will establish a framework for joint initiatives focused on developing future-ready capabilities in areas aligned with the evolving needs of industry. Through the partnership, NAMTECH and SPPU will work towards creating stronger linkages between academic learning, industry requirements and emerging technology applications.
The two institutions will collaborate across four key areas:
} Develop future-oriented, employment-focused curricula and programs aligned with emerging industry requirements.
} Conduct upskilling and capability-building programs for industry professionals.
} Enable student and faculty exchange and experiential learning.
} Collaborate on industry-oriented applied research projects addressing real-world challenges.
The MoU reflects the need for closer collaboration between academia and industry to prepare India’s workforce for rapidly evolving technology and manufacturing environments. By leveraging their respective strengths, NAMTECH and SPPU aim to contribute to a more student-centric and industry-relevant education ecosystem, while creating pathways for learners and professionals to build capabilities aligned with future employment opportunities.
