The company aims to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve chemical research and development (R&D) and make chemical manufacturing more efficient.
The company was co-founded by Poorvank Purohit, former Managing Director and CEO of Solara Active Pharma Sciences, who currently serves as NuSynth’s CEO. The platform focuses on rethinking chemical synthesis processes by evaluating raw materials, reaction pathways and production economics to identify more effective and commercially viable manufacturing approaches.
Focus on Pharmaceutical and Electronics Chemicals
NuSynth is initially targeting the pharmaceutical and electronics chemicals sectors. Rather than focusing only on improving existing production methods, the company aims to develop its own portfolio of proprietary process technologies. Its approach combines AI-led capabilities with chemical process innovation to support the development of new synthesis methods and improve manufacturing outcomes.
The company plans to use the newly raised capital to strengthen its research and development activities and technology capabilities. The funding will also support the development of an initial portfolio of proprietary processes, expansion of scale-up capabilities and team growth.
Funding to Support Proprietary Technology Development
The investment is expected to help NuSynth advance its process innovation platform and build technologies designed for complex chemical manufacturing. By developing proprietary processes, the company intends to create solutions that can address challenges related to production costs, resource efficiency and manufacturing resilience.
Shruti Srivastava, Partner at Avaana Capital, said the approach could improve the economics, resource efficiency and resilience of chemical manufacturing across critical sectors. She added that it could also help create globally competitive technology platforms from India.
Investors See Potential in AI-Led Chemical R&D
Commenting on the investment, Avijeet Alagathi, Managing Partner at Shastra VC, said the use of AI to make chemical research and development faster and more efficient was a key factor behind the investor's interest in NuSynth.
The funding comes as companies explore ways to apply AI and advanced technology to industrial research and manufacturing processes. For NuSynth, the immediate focus is on building its technology capabilities, developing proprietary chemical processes and establishing the infrastructure needed to scale these solutions.
