Om Birla Calls for Inclusive, Value-Based Education; Urges Youth to Contribute to Nation-Building
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that education should not be limited to securing jobs, but should serve as a foundation for social responsibility, character building and nation-building.


Addressing students at the annual function held at Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi, Om Birla stated that the purpose of education should be such that the benefits of development reach every section of society. He also urged youth to actively participate in democracy, adding that true progress is inclusive and involves everyone.

Transformation Through the New Education Policy

He highlighted that the National Education Policy 2020 is bringing significant changes to the education system. It is enhancing critical thinking, creativity and flexibility in learning among students. He also emphasized that along with knowledge and skills, moral values, honesty and discipline are equally important.

Om Birla described teachers as the “architects of society” and said they play a crucial role in shaping responsible and aware citizens. He appreciated Kirori Mal College, especially for its efforts to empower visually impaired students through technology and skill development.

Call for Youth Participation in Nation-Building

Earlier, at Maharaja Agrasen College, he urged students to contribute to the country’s development and strengthen democracy. He linked the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047” to the hard work, innovation and participation of the youth.

He also stated that today’s youth are confident and capable of competing globally. He encouraged students to dream big, work hard and actively contribute to building a self-reliant India.

Importance of Technology and Innovation

Om Birla recalled the legacy of Maharaja Agrasen and emphasized the values of equality and social harmony. He also referred to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, stating that his leadership continues to inspire India’s administrative system.

At Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, he highlighted the importance of innovation, new thinking, and technology in a rapidly changing world. He said that “Viksit Bharat 2047” is a collective goal that can be achieved through the efforts of the country’s youth.

Education Will Strengthen the Future

In conclusion, he said that education is the key to strengthening the nation’s future. If students adopt skills, values and responsibility along with their studies, they will not only succeed in their careers but also contribute significantly to the nation’s development.
