Queen's University Belfast has announced 20 new Academic Excellence Scholarships for students enrolled and performing well at its new Indian campus in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City).
These scholarships aim to support meritorious students pursuing higher education at the international branch campus marking Queen's University's strategic expansion into India.
Mainly These Academic Excellence Scholarships are primarily for students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance and wish to pursue their studies at the GIFT City campus. This announcement comes shortly after the launch of the 20 Women in STEM Awards reflecting the University's continued focus on educational access and inclusion.
The scholarships were launched during a three-day institutional visit to Delhi and Ahmedabad during which senior Queen's University officials interacted with representatives from government ministries higher education institutions and industry partners.
Professor Satish Kumar Dean of Queen's GIFT City Campus said The University's programs in India are designed to prepare graduates for leadership and innovation roles in a rapidly changing global landscape.
He further stated that these scholarships will help build a community of students ready to develop solutions in areas where India and the UK can jointly contribute, such as sustainability digital transformation and entrepreneurship.
GIFT City Campus's Contribution to the Education Sector
GIFT City Campus newly built in line with the National Education Policy for the internationalization of education in India seeks to combine the University's academic standards with India's emerging innovation ecosystem enabling Indian students to access globally recognized education while remaining in India without the need to travel abroad.
The University stated that further details regarding eligibility application deadlines and course specific criteria for the Academic Excellence Scholarships will be released in due course on the official website of Queen's GIFT City Campus.
