Indian luxury watch brand Rotoris has raised ₹70 crore (approximately US$8.5 million) in a Series A funding round led by Blume Ventures. The company plans to use the capital to strengthen research and development (R&D), expand production capacity and grow its Rotoris House presence in India and overseas markets.
The funding round also saw participation from 9Unicorns and Centricity, which brought in a group of family offices, including Diwakar Goel, Global Head of Data at BlackRock; Atul Singh, former Group President, Asia Pacific, at Coca-Cola and Adhiraj Burman of the Dabur family. Actor and television host Rannvijay Singha also participated in the round.
Founded by Aakash Anand and Prerna Gupta, Rotoris is positioning itself in the premium watch segment through limited-edition collections, distinctive designs and a focus on craftsmanship. Anand previously built and scaled Bella Vita before exiting the business, while Gupta leads Rotoris, bringing experience in premium brand-building and customer experience.
Limited-Edition Collections Drive Demand
Rotoris launched its first collection of 2,100 individually numbered timepieces in February 2026, with the entire collection selling out within days. According to the company, nearly 100,000 people have since registered for access to its watches, while around 40% of demand comes from international markets, including the US, Dubai and Australia.
The brand's collections include Manifesta, which features natural stone dials made from materials such as lapis lazuli, imperial jade, white mother of pearl and pietersite. The use of natural stone gives each dial a distinct appearance, making individual pieces different from one another.
Another collection, Astonia, features a 42mm chronograph design incorporating steel, titanium and carbon, powered by a Swiss movement. Rotoris publishes the production size of each collection and provides numbered watches with individual caseback numbers and documentation.
Indian Assembly and International Watchmaking Expertise
Rotoris assembles and tests its watches by hand at the Rotoris Atelier in India, using machinery sourced from Switzerland. The company says its assembly processes were established under the guidance of Swiss horologists with professional experience at Patek Philippe, IWC and Tiffany & Co.
The brand uses Swiss and Japanese movements depending on the collection, with the movement specifications disclosed for each offering. Its product strategy combines design-led collections with an emphasis on engineering, assembly and attention to detail.
Commenting on the company's approach, Co-founder Prerna Gupta said, "The design creates the desire, but the engineering, assembly and attention to detail earn the trust. We are building both sides of Rotoris with the same level of intention."
Rotoris Plans to Expand Its International Presence
Co-founder Aakash Anand said the brand aims to serve customers who view watches as expressions of personal ambition and achievement. He also highlighted the company's plans to establish Rotoris House in New York, citing the city's relevance to its international customer base.
Blume Ventures Co-founder and Managing Partner Karthik Reddy said the investment reflects the firm's confidence in the founders' ability to build an Indian brand with global ambitions. He noted that the company has already demonstrated demand for its products and that the investors see an opportunity to build a brand capable of competing with international names.
Dr Apoorv Ranjan Sharma, founder of 9Unicorns, said the firm had backed Anand and Gupta in their first funding round and was pleased to support them again alongside the family offices participating in the latest round.
Building a Global Luxury Brand from India
Rotoris' immediate priorities include expanding production, strengthening product development and increasing its presence in international markets. The company is also seeking to build its retail and customer experience through Rotoris House with New York identified as a planned destination.
While watches represent the brand's first product category, Rotoris has a broader ambition to establish a design-led luxury house originating in India. The latest funding is expected to support that strategy as the company works to expand its operations and reach more customers in domestic and international markets.
