Smartgrid Analytics Targets Smarter Energy Management with Solvyn AURA
Smartgrid Analytics will unveil Solvyn to help optimise renewable energy and battery storage, improve operational efficiency and reduce power generation risks.

Smartgrid Analytics will introduce its new platform, Solvyn AURA, at the Renewable Energy India Expo (REI Expo) 2026. The platform is designed to improve decision-making related to renewable energy and battery storage. It aims to help energy companies forecast power generation, plan battery usage and make better decisions in electricity markets.

India growing digital economy and the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) are driving demand for data centres and electricity. The country’s data-centre capacity is projected to increase from less than 2 gigawatts (GW) currently to an estimated 24–26 GW by 2036. At the same time, India aims to achieve 800 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2035-36. Managing energy generation and storage efficiently is becoming increasingly important to meet this growing demand.

According to the company, electricity demand from data centres in India increased from around 375 megawatts (MW) in 2020 to approximately 1,575 MW by August 2026. Industry estimates suggest that demand could increase by several additional gigawatts by 2030. Renewable energy and battery storage could play an important role in meeting the growing electricity requirements of data centres.

Solvyn AURA will analyse factors such as solar and wind power generation forecasts, battery conditions, grid constraints and electricity market prices. Based on this information, the platform will help energy companies plan power generation and supply, determine the appropriate timing for battery use and make informed bids in electricity markets. It aims to improve revenue from energy assets and reduce the risk of penalties caused by deviations between planned and actual power generation.

The platform is designed for independent power producers, utilities and companies operating portfolios that combine multiple energy sources, including solar, wind and battery storage. It will consider battery charge levels, battery health, operational and warranty limits, and grid requirements while supporting energy planning and commercial decisions. Real-time equipment control and grid responses will continue to be handled by systems such as Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Power Plant Controllers (PPC).

Dr Kumar M, Founder and CEO of Smartgrid Analytics, said that the next phase of growth in the energy sector will require more than increased capacity, with intelligent technologies also needed to support better decisions. According to him, Solvyn AURA will help energy companies coordinate power generation, battery storage and commercial decisions as operating conditions change.

The company also highlighted the growing importance of critical minerals and electronic waste management as the digital economy and clean energy sectors expand. In 2022, the world generated approximately 62 million tonnes of e-waste, containing metals with an estimated value of USD 91 billion. However, only 22.3% of this waste was formally collected and recycled. India is also taking steps to encourage critical mineral recycling and improve the use of available resources.

Through Solvyn AURA, Smartgrid Analytics aims to help renewable energy businesses simplify operational decisions, improve the performance of their energy assets and make better use of renewable generation and battery storage.
