Subway has expanded its presence in Hyderabad with the opening of a new restaurant at Lakeshore Mall, reinforcing its strategy to scale operations in high-traffic urban locations. The launch adds to the brand’s growing footprint in the city, where it now operates over 48 stores.
With this addition, Subway continues to strengthen its position in the quick service restaurant segment in Hyderabad, a market that has seen steady demand for international food brands. Lakeshore Mall is among the city’s prominent shopping destinations, drawing consistent footfall from families, shoppers, office commuters, and nearby residential catchments, making it a commercially strategic location for QSR operators.
At a national level, Subway operates 990-plus restaurants in India, while its global network spans over 36,000 stores across more than 100 countries. The Hyderabad opening aligns with the brand’s broader plan to grow market share through a mix of metro and non-metro expansion.
While Tier I cities remain central to Subway’s growth plans, the company is also increasing its focus on smaller cities, supported by rising disposable incomes and a growing preference for organized foodservice brands. The strategy includes securing locations in malls, airports, and highway-facing developments to enhance brand visibility and customer access.
Eversub India Pvt Limited (EIPL), which holds the master franchise rights for Subway in India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, continues to drive this expansion. In the previous year, Subway added 100 new outlets in India, highlighting the pace of its rollout in the region.
Subway entered the Indian market in 2001, and its ongoing store additions reflect the brand’s sustained investment in one of its fastest-growing international markets, as it continues to scale its QSR operations across key consumption hubs.
