T-Hub has entered into a strategic partnership with the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) to strengthen startup collaboration between India and Japan.
Under the agreement, T-Hub will act as an access platform for Japanese startups, corporates and investors looking to expand in India, while also helping Indian startups explore structured expansion opportunities in Japan.
The collaboration will focus on sectors such as pharma and medical equipment, space and aerospace, defence, mobility and smart infrastructure, as well as deeptech, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies. Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 areas, including Internet of Things and cloud computing, will also be part of the initiative.
The partnership will introduce startup exchange programmes, open innovation engagements with corporations, market access support, regulatory guidance and investor connect platforms.
The launch of the collaboration was recently reinforced by an immersive learning visit by students from Tongali Nagoya University and Shizuoka University at T-Hub. The visit highlighted growing academic and innovation links between the two countries and offered participants exposure to India’s startup ecosystem. T-Hub has already built relationships with several Japanese corporations and venture funds through earlier collaborations aimed at supporting cross-border innovation and technology development.
Kavikrut, CEO of T-Hub, said, “At T-Hub, we are driven by a founder-first philosophy, and partnerships like these are designed to create meaningful global pathways for startups building from India for the world. Our collaboration with JETRO creates a structured platform for founders to access international opportunities and collaborate with industry leaders.”
Toshihiro Mizutani, Director General of JETRO Bengaluru, said the partnership will deepen cooperation between Japanese companies and Indian innovators. “We see immense opportunity for deeper collaboration between Japanese companies and Indian innovators,” he said. “Through this partnership with T-Hub we hope to strengthen Japan-India startup collaboration and support cross-border growth for emerging ventures.”
The initiative also aligns with broader India-Japan strategic efforts to promote technology cooperation, innovation-led growth and stronger links between the two startup ecosystems.
