Tata Power has commissioned its first 240 kW DC ultra-fast EV charging station in Andhra Pradesh. The facility is located at Sri Varsha Grand on the Bengaluru–Chittoor–Tirupati/Chennai highway, providing charging access to EV users travelling between Bengaluru and Chennai, as well as those heading towards Tirupati.
With a 240 kW charging capacity, the station is designed to support faster charging for compatible EVs. It is expected to provide convenient charging stops for private EV owners, commercial vehicle operators and fleet users undertaking long-distance journeys.
The charging station is equipped with CCS-2 connectors, making it compatible with a wide range of supported EV models. Its location at Sri Varsha Grand also provides travellers with access to dining, restroom and parking facilities, allowing them to use these amenities while their vehicles are being charged.
The facility is part of Tata Power EZ Charge network. According to the company, the network includes more than 6,700 public and captive charging points, over 2.5 lakh home EV chargers and more than 1,200 e-bus charging points across over 700 cities and towns in India.
The addition of the high-capacity charging station further expands EV charging infrastructure along key intercity routes in South India. EV users can locate charging stations, check availability and initiate charging sessions through the Tata Power EZ Charge mobile app or RFID cards.
