Thomas Cook India Limited has expanded its experiential hospitality footprint with the launch of a new Nature Trails resort in Goa, marking the brand’s first property in the state as demand grows for nature-based and activity-driven holidays among Indian travellers.

The newly opened Nature Trails Rock Valley is located in Ponda, at the foothills of the Western Ghats, and spans 15 acres across a valley landscape. With this addition, Nature Trails owned by Thomas Cook India now operates resorts in Durshet, Sajan and Kundalika in Maharashtra, alongside its Goa entry.

The property has been designed to offer an immersive outdoor experience with rooms exceeding 250 sq ft and featuring private seating areas that overlook forests, farmland and a river. Amenities include two infinity pools one facing a valley and another overlooking the river along with a dedicated adventure zone.

Guests can choose from a range of adventure and outdoor activities such as zip lining, rope courses, archery, ATV rides, rappelling and kayaking, all conducted under professional supervision. The resort also offers water-based experiences on the Khandepar backwaters and guided walks through an on-site spice farm that showcase local biodiversity and cultivation practices.

In addition to leisure travellers, Nature Trails Rock Valley is targeting educational institutions through structured outdoor learning programmes that blend environmental awareness, physical activity and experiential engagement. The property is also positioned for corporate off-sites, with conference facilities that can accommodate up to 120 people.

Dining options include Goan cuisine alongside Indian and international dishes, while other features include walking trails, recreational spaces, children’s play areas and pet-friendly accommodation. The resort is located about an hour from Dabolim Airport and roughly 40-45 minutes from Madgaon railway station and Colva Beach, making it accessible for short breaks, day retreats and group travel.

Mahesh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Thomas Cook India Limited, said the Nature Trails brand is a strategic investment aimed at tapping into India’s growing domestic tourism market.

“Goa was a natural next step given its year-round appeal, strong connectivity and wide traveller base” he said, adding that the company plans to expand the Nature Trails portfolio to more destinations in the future.

The launch comes amid a broader shift in travel preferences, particularly among younger travellers, corporate groups and schools, who are increasingly opting for low-impact, experience-led stays that combine nature, adventure and local authenticity over traditional sightseeing holidays.
