BigBasket, the Tata-owned online grocery platform, is undergoing a major leadership transition. Co-founder and CEO Hari Menon is stepping down after steering the company for years, marking the end of an era for one of India’s most prominent e-commerce ventures.
Taking over the reins will be Amit Nanda, an Amazon veteran with extensive experience in scaling digital businesses. His appointment signals BigBasket’s intent to strengthen its competitive edge in India’s fast-growing online grocery market, where rivals like Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart are aggressively expanding.
Menon’s exit is seen as a pivotal moment, given his role in building BigBasket into a household name. Nanda’s leadership is expected to bring fresh strategies, leveraging his global expertise to drive efficiency, innovation and customer growth.
