Marking its entry into India’s premium furniture segment, EBG Group has joined hands with British lifestyle brand Carlton London to introduce Carlton Luxury Furniture, a concept centred on sustainability, durability and conscious living.

The collaboration was announced in the presence of Carl Virk and Dr Irfan Khan, highlighting the companies’ vision to redefine luxury furniture through environmentally responsible designs and long-lasting craftsmanship. Other dignitaries present at the launch included Omkar Navge, Ganesh Kumar, Ranjitha M. and Sathya Verma.

As part of its growth roadmap, the venture plans to establish 600 franchise showrooms across 300 key cities in India over the next five years. Expansion will be driven through a partner-led franchise model, with anticipated investments of ₹1,800-2,000 crore from franchise partners. The initiative is also projected to create close to 12,000 employment opportunities while strengthening participation from MSME and SME suppliers within its ecosystem.

The venture is also placing strong emphasis on sustainability across raw material sourcing, production practices, logistics optimisation and durable product engineering. At full scale, Carlton Luxury Furniture aims to reduce its carbon footprint by nearly 16,000 kg annually through these environmentally conscious initiatives.

Commenting on the launch, Dr Irfan Khan, Founder and CEO of EBG Group said, “Carlton Luxury Furniture represents a shift in how India will perceive and invest in furniture. The industry has long focused on short-term consumption with limited attention to longevity or environmental impact. We are introducing a model that combines design with sustainability, where furniture is built to last 10 to 15 years and continues to create value through solutions such as buyback and refurbishment. Our vision is to make conscious living aspirational and accessible at scale. In doing so, we are also working towards a measurable environmental impact with a targeted reduction of nearly 16,000 kg of carbon footprint annually as we scale this model across India.”

Carl Virk, Founder of Carlton London said, “We have always stood for timeless elegance, superior craftsmanship, and uncompromising quality. Through this partnership with EBG Group, one of the defining highlights of this brand is its strong emphasis on home-grown manufacturing. Every piece is crafted with a strong focus on quality, durability, and refined aesthetics, ensuring that luxury is not only experienced but also responsibly created.”

Blending classic craftsmanship with modern aesthetics, the range features Chesterfield sofas, high-back chairs, dining ensembles and storage solutions tailored for both traditional and contemporary living spaces. Crafted using materials such as leatherette, the collection is further supported by dedicated maintenance and after-sales services.

In line with its circular economy vision, Carlton Luxury Furniture has also rolled out a buyback initiative under which customers can return pre-owned furniture in exchange for compensation. The returned pieces will be refurbished and reintroduced into the market as preloved furniture, extending product life cycles and reducing waste.
