Chiratae Ventures Leads USD 10 Mn Round in Photonic Quantum Startup Quanfluence
Quanfluence raises USD 10 million led by Chiratae Ventures to build a photonic quantum computer in India.

Quanfluence, a photonic quantum technology startup has raised USD 10 million in a funding round led by Chiratae Ventures with participation from Rainmatter by Zerodha and existing investor Pi Ventures. The Bengaluru-based company had earlier raised USD 2 million in a seed round led by Pi Ventures in December 2024.

Founded in 2021 by Sujoy Chakravarty, Ravi Mehta, Biman Chattopadhyay, Anil Prabhakar, Aditi Vaidya and Sandeep Goyal, Quanfluence develops photonic quantum computing technology for optimisation problems, designed to complement AI in decision-making. Unlike conventional quantum systems that require complex cooling infrastructure, Quanfluence’s technology combines optics and hardware to operate at room temperature. Its optical Ising machine uses light waves and FPGAs for optimisation processing, which the company claims can be up to 100 times faster than classical computing for certain workloads.

The fresh funds will go toward building and launching a four-qubit quantum computer in the near term with the company targeting a larger prototype featuring around 100 qubits by 2029. Quanfluence aims to develop a fault-tolerant, general-purpose quantum computer over the next five to six years. The company is also testing an advanced version of its system capable of processing 10-25 million permutations for complex optimisation problems spanning logistics, workforce scheduling, risk management and delivery route planning.

The investment comes amid growing investor interest in India’s quantum computing sector, backed by the government’s INR 6,003.65-crore National Quantum Mission. Other startups in the space include QpiAI, which raised USD 32 million in Series A funding last year, BQP (formerly BosonQ Psi), which raised about USD 5 million in seed funding this year and QuBeats, which raised USD 15 million in its first institutional round in April.
