ColdStar Logistics is ramping up its supply chain capabilities in response to the rapid expansion of its long term partner Lenexis Foodworks across India. The development underscores the growing importance of backend logistics in enabling scalable quick service restaurant operations across multiple markets.
At present, ColdStar manages end to end multi temperature supply chain operations for 262 outlets run by Lenexis Foodworks, supporting brands such as Chinese Wok, Big Bowl and The Momo Co.. Its mandate spans primary transportation, warehousing across frozen, chilled and ambient categories, along with last mile delivery.
The company is now gearing up to expand its infrastructure to support over 500 outlets over the next three years, in line with Lenexis Foodworks’ growth trajectory. Currently, ColdStar handles more than 360 SKUs for the operator, facilitating around 2,400 SKU line orders each day across its network with a reported 99.85 percent delivery accuracy, while ensuring uninterrupted daily supply.
The association between ColdStar Logistics and Lenexis Foodworks spans over a decade and has scaled in tandem with the operator’s expansion. Over this period, ColdStar has evolved its operating model from a hybrid fresh and warehousing setup to a streamlined system centred on pre packed frozen, chilled and dry distribution, aimed at improving efficiency at the store level.
Sameer Varma, Executive Director, ColdStar Logistics, said, “We first began working with Lenexis Foodworks over a decade ago. Over the years we have successfully anticipated new demand and adapted our services to meet evolving requirements.
We moved from a part-fresh, part-warehousing model to a completely pre-packed frozen, chiller and dry distribution system for store deliveries. Consistency, zero stock out, freshness, speed and availability contribute to be our USPs for our partner. As Lenexis gears up for expansion over the next three years, we’ve anticipated the demand to come and are ready to double our capacity to over 500 stores.”
From an operational standpoint, ColdStar Logistics enables distribution across metro as well as Tier I, II and III markets through structured replenishment cycles ranging from bi weekly to fortnightly. Its platform leverages AI and machine learning driven planning, route optimisation, real time temperature monitoring and predictive alerts to streamline inventory movement and minimise supply chain disruptions.
Aayush Madhusudan Agrawal, Director, Lenexis Foodworks, said, “Supply chain is a critical enabler of scale in the QSR business. As Lenexis Foodworks expands towards 500+ stores, consistency, speed and reliability across markets become non-negotiable. Our partnership with ColdStar has played a key role in ensuring seamless operations and maintaining product quality at scale, and we see this collaboration continuing to be a strong growth enabler in the years ahead.”
With Lenexis Foodworks aiming to scale its network to over 500 outlets in the next three years, ColdStar Logistics is stepping up investments in infrastructure across key cities and emerging consumption hubs. The move underscores a wider industry shift, where robust supply chain capabilities are becoming critical to scaling operations, ensuring consistency and enabling multi city QSR expansion.
