Luxury hospitality and hotel management group Eight Continents Hotels & Resorts has unveiled an ambitious expansion roadmap, aiming to grow its portfolio to 50 hotels by 2030, driven by rising demand across India’s pilgrimage, leisure, wildlife and business travel segments.
The brand plans to add 20 new properties by 2029, with upcoming hotels spread across key spiritual destinations, leisure hotspots, metro cities and emerging business hubs. The expansion will be executed in phases, aligned with market maturity, demand trends and brand fit, the company said.
Eight Continents, which operates design-led boutique hotel brands including Ocho Homes, Hanric, Treetop and Stamps, focuses on experience-driven stays that blend local culture with contemporary luxury. The group currently has a presence in India, the UK and East Africa.
As part of its India-focused growth strategy, the company is targeting major pilgrimage centres such as Vrindavan, Ayodhya, Shirdi and Ujjain, alongside leisure and wildlife destinations including Udaipur, Gir, Corbett, Varkala and Jaisalmer. Key commercial markets such as Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, as well as select tier-two cities, are also on the expansion radar.
The company said its growth plans are backed by strong domestic travel trends. Pilgrimage tourism has seen a sharp rise in bookings, while tier-two cities are emerging as important demand centres due to improved infrastructure, better connectivity and the decentralisation of economic activity.
Under the phased strategy, Eight Continents plans to consolidate its presence in pilgrimage markets with around 10 hotels by 2028. By 2029, it aims to add another 10 properties in leisure and nature-led destinations, before scaling up to a 50-hotel portfolio by 2030 through selective entry into metropolitan and business hubs.
“Our focus is on building a balanced and resilient hospitality platform that combines emotion-led luxury with disciplined growth” said Richa Adhia, Managing Director, Eight Continents Hotels & Resorts. “Each phase of expansion is designed to strengthen our positioning as a future-ready national hospitality brand.”
India remains central to the group’s global growth plans. Over the past six months, Eight Continents has expanded across multiple formats and geographies, launching Stampy by Eight Continents in Pushkar, Stamps by Eight Continents in Jodhpur and new Ocho Homes properties in Belfast and Navi Mumbai. The company said it aims to play a meaningful role in shaping the next phase of experiential luxury hospitality in the country.
