Ubifly Technologies (The ePlane Company) has partnered with HENSOLDT Avionics to integrate advanced avionics systems into its e200X eVTOL aircraft.

In a major step toward advancing urban air mobility, Ubifly Technologies (The ePlane Company), one of India’s leading developers of electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, has announced a strategic partnership with Germany-based HENSOLDT Avionics, a global leader in sensor solutions and mission management electronics.

The collaboration will focus on integrating an advanced avionics suite into the company’s flagship aircraft, the e200X eVTOL Aircraft, as it transitions from a subscale model to a full-scale prototype. The new avionics system will function as a “digital nervous system,” enhancing safety, situational awareness, and operational efficiency in complex urban environments.

Under the partnership, the aircraft will incorporate several advanced technologies, including the EuroNav 7 Next Gen digital moving map system for precise navigation and mission management, and CaviSight, a visual landing aid designed to support pilots with enhanced video and augmented vision during critical flight phases such as takeoff and landing.

To improve airspace safety, the aircraft will also feature the RF1 Smart Antenna for collision avoidance and traffic awareness. In addition, CaviConnect will provide secure connectivity between the aircraft and ground stations, enabling real-time data exchange for fleet management and continuous system monitoring.

The integration will also include the EB1 Multipurpose Airborne Computer, which will deliver additional onboard processing power for mission-critical applications and help prepare the platform for future autonomous capabilities.

The avionics integration is part of the aircraft’s certification programme with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), following the internal design freeze of the e200X’s avionics architecture.

Satya Chakravarthy, Founder and Technical Lead of The ePlane Company, said that building a certifiable eVTOL requires seamless integration of advanced subsystems into a unified platform. He added that the partnership with HENSOLDT brings a legacy of aviation safety into the design of the e200X.

Michael Groeninger, Managing Director of HENSOLDT Avionics GmbH, noted that the collaboration aims to set new standards for situational awareness in the advanced air mobility sector while supporting efforts to reduce urban congestion.

Industry experts believe the partnership represents a strong convergence of German technological precision and Indian innovation, potentially shaping the future of safe and efficient urban air mobility.
