Counted among the country’s prestigious educational institutions, Jamia Millia Islamia’s Department of Civil Engineering has taken this initiative for students who wish to build a career in the construction sector using modern technologies.
Interested candidates will have to submit a separate application by visiting the university’s official admission portal at admission.jmi.ac.in.
Why has this new course been introduced?
The construction sector is changing rapidly today. New machines, digital tools and advanced technologies are transforming the industry.
Keeping these changes in mind, Jamia has launched this new course so that students are not limited to textbooks alone but also gain real-world, practical experience.
The objective of the course is to help students understand modern construction technologies and learn how to apply them in practice, ensuring they are fully prepared for industry requirements.
A different approach to learning
This BTech programme will not be limited to theory alone. The curriculum has been designed in line with national and international standards. Students will get the opportunity to work in modern laboratories.
In addition, collaborations with leading construction companies will provide students with opportunities to work on live projects and undertake internships, helping them gain industry exposure during their studies.
Training in new technologies
Under this course, students will be trained in modern technologies such as BIM, GIS and AI. Special focus will also be placed on digital drawing, project planning, time management and effective use of data.
Along with technical knowledge, students will be taught essential skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork and project management, enabling them to become not only competent engineers but also effective team leaders.
