German furniture fittings major Hettich has reinforced its footprint in Chennai by unveiling an upgraded Experience Centre and opening the city’s first Hettich Exclusive (HeX) Store, marking a significant step in its India growth strategy focused on experiential retail.
Located in Chetpet, the refreshed Experience Centre has been designed as a standardised, immersive space showcasing Hettich’s comprehensive range of furniture fittings, architectural hardware, lighting systems and built-in kitchen appliances. Aimed at homeowners as well as architects, interior designers and carpenters, the centre also offers design assistance and project consultation services to support end-to-end interior solutions.
Adding to this experiential ecosystem is the newly launched HeX Store in Mylapore. Operated under a franchise model, the store allows customers to explore and purchase Hettich products displayed in realistic furniture and living space environments. The outlet also provides personalised design consultations to help customers create customised furniture and interior applications.
According to Andre Eckholt, Managing Director – Hettich India, SAARC, Middle East & Africa, Chennai represents a strategically important market due to its strong design sensibilities and evolving lifestyle preferences. He noted that the combination of an Experience Centre and an exclusive retail store enables the company to deepen engagement with both consumers and industry professionals while improving access to its German-engineered solutions.
The Chennai HeX Store forms part of Hettich’s broader plan to expand exclusive stores across India, working in tandem with company-owned Experience Centres to strengthen its presence in residential and commercial interior segments.
Hettich, a family-owned German enterprise with a global turnover exceeding €1.5 billion, has been operating in India for over 20 years, offering solutions across furniture fittings, door hardware, lighting, aluminium profiles and built-in appliances.
