Honda 0 Series Electric SUV to Debut in India Next Year
Honda will launch its new Honda 0 Series Electric SUV in India next year, marking the brand first premium EV for the country. The SUV will be based on Honda’s global 0 Series EV platform.

Honda is set to introduce its all-new Honda 0 Series SUV in India next year. First unveiled in concept form at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, the futuristic electric SUV has now made its Asia debut at the Japan Mobility Show 2025.

The new electric SUV will retain much of its concept’s sleek and aerodynamic design, representing Honda’s bold new global EV design philosophy. In India, it will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and positioned in the premium EV segment. This will be Honda’s first electric SUV for the Indian market. The model will later be joined by a smaller, made-in-India EV — the Honda 0 α (Alpha) — expected to launch in 2027.

The 0 Series concept showcased in Tokyo follows Honda’s “Thin, Light, and Wise” design philosophy, focusing on lightweight construction, aerodynamic efficiency, and smart performance. The smooth body surfaces, large glass area, and U-shaped LED tail-light bar give it a futuristic and elegant appearance.

Honda confirmed that all models under the 0 Series will be born-electric vehicles built on an all-new, dedicated EV architecture. This global platform will underpin a new generation of battery-electric vehicles to be introduced over the coming years.

The lineup will also focus heavily on software. Honda revealed that all 0 Series vehicles will be software-defined vehicles (SDVs) powered by the company’s new ASIMO OS operating system. This system will act as the car’s central brain — integrating electronic control units (ECUs), enabling advanced driver-assistance systems, infotainment functions, and supporting over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Although Honda has not yet disclosed the technical specifications, the SUV’s dimensions suggest it will be comparable to the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5, featuring a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and a flat floor to maximize cabin space.

The production version is expected to retain the concept’s aerodynamic silhouette, minimalist front design, and distinctive LED lighting. It will embody Honda’s global electric vision, combining advanced design, technology, and performance.

When launched, the Honda 0 Series SUV will serve as the brand’s flagship electric model in India. While pricing has not been officially announced, its CBU import status and premium positioning suggest a starting price of over ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will directly rival the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 in India’s high-end electric SUV segment.
