JSW MG Motor India has launched the Hector Tomahawk in electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) versions. The EV is priced from ₹19.49 lakh, while the PHEV starts at ₹25.69 lakh, with both prices being introductory ex-showroom prices for the complete vehicle.
The company has also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option for a limited number of bookings. Under the BaaS model, the cost of the battery is separated from the vehicle’s upfront price, while customers pay a usage-based battery rental charge per kilometre.
Under the BaaS plan, the Hector Tomahawk EV starts at ₹13.99 lakh, with a battery rental charge of ₹4.90 per kilometre. The PHEV version starts at ₹21.79 lakh, with a battery rental charge of ₹3.20 per kilometre. Electricity and petrol costs will be charged separately.
Bookings for both versions of the Hector Tomahawk are now open through MG dealerships and the company’s website. EV deliveries are expected to begin in September 2026, followed by PHEV deliveries in November 2026.
Parth Jindal, Director, JSW MG Motor India, said the BaaS pricing allows customers to access a C-segment SUV at a price comparable to several B-segment ICE SUVs. He added that the PHEV’s BaaS price brings it closer to diesel automatic SUVs, allowing customers to adopt an electrified powertrain without a significant increase in upfront vehicle cost.
The Hector Tomahawk is the first model based on the company’s new MG ADAPT platform, a flexible new-energy vehicle architecture designed to support multiple powertrain options.
The MG ADAPT platform can accommodate battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, range-extended electric and hybrid powertrains. According to Jindal, the transition to new-energy vehicles will not be the same for every customer, which is why the platform has been designed to offer multiple powertrain options.
