Nasscom has appointed Srikanth Velamakanni, Co-founder and Group Chief Executive of Fractal, as its new Chairperson, succeeding Sindhu Gangadharan, Managing Director of SAP Labs India, who completes her term in April 2026.
The industry body also announced the election of Kishor Patil, Co-founder, CEO and Managing Director of KPIT, as Vice Chairperson.
Velamakanni steps into the role after serving as Vice Chairperson and being part of the Nasscom Executive Council for over six years. His appointment comes at a time when AI is reshaping the global technology landscape.
“I am delighted to take on the role of Nasscom Chairperson at this incredibly important juncture. AI progress is unlocking unprecedented opportunities for enterprises to reimagine their businesses,” Velamakanni said. He added that India is expected to play a key role in this transformation with a focus on driving AI-led growth and preparing the workforce for emerging roles.
Working closely with Nasscom President Rajesh Nambiar and the Executive Council, Velamakanni will focus on advancing AI-driven services, fostering product innovation, strengthening deep-tech capabilities and promoting responsible AI frameworks.
“Srikanth brings a rare combination of entrepreneurial drive and AI depth to this role,” Nambiar said, adding that the industry body will continue positioning India as a trusted partner in AI-led transformation.
Outgoing Chairperson Sindhu Gangadharan said, “It has been an honour to lead Nasscom during a period of extraordinary change. I am confident that Srikanth will take this agenda to its next stage of impact.”
Velamakanni is widely recognised for his contributions to AI and entrepreneurship and has also been involved in policy discussions around AI and national security.
