Upsurge India, an investment and asset management firm, has led a secondary transaction worth over INR 50 crore in iD Fresh Food, covering approximately 1% of the company’s equity. Early investor Blue Ashva Capital sold its entire shareholding in the deal.
Triumph Global Fund and White Whale Ventures co-led the transaction and BlueCheck Advisors acted as transaction advisor. According to the release, investor demand exceeded the available allocation with other institutional buyers also competing.
“What interests us as investors is what sits behind the brand: manufacturing prowess, cold-chain infrastructure and distribution with consistency that is genuinely difficult to replicate at scale,” said Satyam Goyal, Head of Equities, Upsurge India.
The block represents a material portion of the roughly 3% of iD Fresh’s equity available in the private secondary market. The valuation of the transaction is confidential.
Founded in Bengaluru in 2005, iD Fresh Food sells fresh, preservative-free, ready-to-cook Indian food products. It holds a 60-65% market share in its category across India.
Earlier in 2026, Apax acquired a significant minority stake in iD Fresh in a transaction reported at an implied valuation of about INR 4,400 crore and a deal size of about INR 1,500 crore.
“Our investment in iD Fresh was driven by its innovative approach to preservative-free fresh food, particularly its semi-fermented batter technology, and its scalable direct-to-retail distribution network,” said Satya Bansal, Founder and CEO, Blue Ashva Capital. He added that the exit is part of the firm’s ongoing liquidity generation from its first-vintage fund.
