Hang Ten Systems, an AI startup founded by former Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka four months ago, has raised USD 53 million in additional seed funding, just five weeks after closing its initial USD 32 million round.
The new round was led by Temasek’s early-stage investment platform Xora, taking the company’s total funding to USD 85 million. Mayfield, which led the earlier round, also participated, along with Aramco Ventures, Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan, Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra and Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang, who sits on the company’s board.
Hang Ten advises large enterprises, typically with over USD10 billion in annual revenue, on AI strategy and helps build and modernize their software. The startup is working with a mix of existing customers and prospects across 21 major enterprises spanning the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, including Fresenius Kabi, Saudi Aramco and Siemens Energy. It has secured multiple seven-figure contracts and is pursuing eight-figure deals.
CTO Sanjay Rajagopalan said the company’s engineers use an in-house framework called Hobie that packages reusable AI capabilities for regulated industries and complex enterprise software projects. He said teams of two to four people now handle projects that previously required around 30 with customers or third parties still conducting final quality checks.
The Palo Alto-headquartered startup currently has 20-25 employees across the US, Middle East and Australia and plans to expand into Europe and India with the new funding, which will go toward growing its engineering, consulting and sales teams.
“The build part itself has basically become close to zero marginal cost, close to zero time,” said Vishal Sikka, Founder and CEO, Hang Ten Systems.
