WorkOnGrid, a Bengaluru-based operations intelligence platform for utilities, has raised INR 22.5 crore in a funding round led by Transition Venture Capital, with participation from the Indian Angel Network.
The startup had earlier secured INR 1 crore in 2020 from Start Up O Ventures and INR 5 crore in 2022 from a group of investors including Indian Angel Network and Startup O.
The latest funding will be used to expand the company’s global market presence, enhance its artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities and develop international infrastructure.
Founded by Udit Poddar, Shreyansh Jain, Aayush Agrawal and Shaurya Poddar, WorkOnGrid provides a platform designed for utilities operating in power, water and gas sectors. Its system enables real-time data integration, predictive analysis and workflow automation to support operational decision-making.
The startup aims to address challenges faced by utility providers, such as fragmented data systems and increasing operational complexity. It is working to build a unified data intelligence layer that consolidates information from multiple sources, including smart meters, sensors, geographic information systems and financial platforms.
According to the startup, its platform allows users to access insights quickly and automate processes through an integrated system combining data storage, analytics and operational tools. This approach is intended to help utilities shift from reactive processes to more predictive and automated operations.
WorkOnGrid states that it currently works with over 20 utility providers globally and handles data from millions of smart meters, along with other operational and asset-related information.
