Zelio E-Mobility has unveiled its new electric three-wheeler, Tanga Nine+, at RideAsia EV Expo 2026, featuring enhanced safety and an 8-passenger capacity.

Zelio E-Mobility has unveiled its latest electric three-wheeler, ‘Tanga Nine+’, at the RideAsia EV Expo 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam. The company stated that the commercial launch of the new model is expected in the second quarter (Q2) of the current financial year. The vehicle has been designed to meet the rapidly evolving last-mile mobility needs across urban and semi-urban markets.

The Tanga Nine+ comes with significant upgrades over its predecessor, most notably the introduction of an ‘Autosafe’ front design. This replaces the conventional open or mirror-front structure commonly seen in three-wheelers, enhancing passenger safety and boosting driver confidence. Additionally, the vehicle now offers an expanded seating capacity of up to eight passengers, compared to five in the earlier version, increasing earning potential for operators.

In terms of performance, the vehicle delivers a top speed of 45–50 km/h and a driving range of up to 150 km on a single charge. It is powered by a 2.5 kW motor using BLDC/PMSM technology and offers battery options of 7.8 kWh and 10 kWh. Designed for comfort and durability, the Tanga Nine+ features 670 mm legroom, a gross vehicle weight of 900 kg, and a combi braking system with drum brakes for improved safety.

Commenting on the launch, Kunal Arya said that India’s last-mile mobility segment is evolving rapidly, requiring solutions that balance safety, capacity, and economic viability. He added that the Tanga Nine+ aims to address these needs while offering a safer and more comfortable experience.

Founded in 2021, Zelio E-Mobility has steadily expanded its presence in India’s EV market. The company currently has an annual production capacity of 72,000 units, a customer base of over 200,000, and a dealership network of more than 350 outlets across 20 states and union territories.
