zingbus has completed 1.75 million electric kilometres through its electric bus operations, claiming savings of nearly 5 lakh litres of diesel and avoidance of around 1,300 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

Intercity bus operator zingbus has completed a cumulative 1,753,380 electric kilometres across its electric bus operations. The company shared the information in its operational performance data released on Thursday.

According to the company, its electric bus fleet has displaced an estimated 500,966 litres of diesel fuel to date. zingbus said that based on standard diesel combustion metrics, this translates into the avoidance of approximately 1,300 tonnes of direct tailpipe carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions.

At the operational level, each electric bus in the zingbus network covers an average of 550 kilometres per day. The company said its collective electric bus fleet currently carries nearly 675 passengers daily.

Commenting on the operational performance, Prashant Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO, zingbus, said the next phase of electric bus expansion must enable operators to participate confidently through access to technology, demand visibility and sustainable operating models.

He added that such an approach can help electric buses scale while creating measurable benefits for passengers, operators and the environment.
